My Mission

I believe in the power and necessity of patchwork families. I believe that while nuclear family circumstances are often difficult, no one needs to be alone. We can be sisters and brothers, different patches from different sources, sewn together in love.

Nova, my favorite redhead creation, said it wisely: “Patchwork families are like patchwork quilts; you pick up the pieces that make you smile, and you sew them to the other pieces that make you smile until your collection is so big that it covers your heart. No more cold toes, no more cold tears. That’s how it works.”

Great Ideas

Great ideas bring patchwork families together. We span a wide spectrum of personalities, hopes, ambitions, and talents. Some patches include the ones we marry, the ones we gave birth to, the ones who share DNA with us, and the ones we have chosen simply because they are wonderfully made.

Because none of us are meant to do everything alone, we can share our ideas and learn from the lived experience, education, and expertise of others as we strive to make them reality. And by doing so, we reinforce the stitches that hold our families together.

    OLIVER
